I think this will have to be the first of two Cabinets this month…there is just too much spooky goodness in the world to only share inspiration once before Halloween. I’m calling this little collection “vintage spooks.” That can mean so many things, but these are some of the images from the 19th and 20th centuries that I have saved on my Pinterest over the years. I like thinking about the idea that humans have been fascinated with darkness and the unknown for as long as we have existed. So amongst my mid-October inspo are creepy costumes, spirit photography and art from Francesca Woodman, Ralph Eugene Meatyard, and Max Ernst.
As always, all sources on my Pinterest.
