This month’s Cabinet of Curiosities is for two of my favorite goddesses: Artemis and Persephone. Both are youthful and lovely, both hold an unknowable mystery. They embody midsummer wildness. Summer is about that full feeling, about being exhausted after spending a day in the sun, but feeling so satisfied by just dipping your toes in some cold water. As much as I dislike being hot and sweaty, I think I am coming around to embracing summer. I love every season equally (I don’t care for Gob) because they bring something new and refreshing with every turn. As hot as this summer is, I’m learning to love it.
